McCann School of Business & Technology is no longer accepting students at its Pottsville location.
According to the Republican Herald, McCann lost its recognition as a qualified educational institution after its accreditor was brought into question.
In December 2016, the U.S. Department of Education ceased recognition of the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools because it did not meet required guidelines.
A McCann campus catalog posted online Dec. 1, 2017, states the Federal Department of Education is requiring that McCann and all other ACICS-accredited schools “obtain accreditation from another recognized accreditor by June 12, 2018.”
McCann spokesman Chuck Vella said there was no one authorized available to speak on the matter.
