A Frackville woman was jailed charged by Pottsville police with assaulting a North School District administrator in the parking lot of the Schuylkill County Courthouse on Monday.
According to the Republican Herald, 37 year old Carisa Sue Rhoads, of Frackville, physically assaulted Janel Hansbury after a verbal altercation inside the courthouse.
Hansbury, who is the assistant principal at the North Schuylkill Elementary School, was at the Schuylkill County Courthouse to testify as a witness, for Children and Youth, in a court proceeding.
Police said she suffered visible injuries requiring medical treatment. Rhoads was charged with felony aggravated assault, due to the victim being assaulted while acting in the scope of her employment as an educator, along with other misdemeanor counts. She was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge James K. Reiley, Pottsville, who set bail at $100,000 and ordered her committed to Schuylkill County Prison pending a preliminary hearing.
