A Girardville man’s car caught fire after being hit from behind by a tractor-trailer Thursday afternoon along Route 61 and East Union Street, in Pottsville.
According to the Republican Herald, Pottsville police said the 19-year-old man was driving north in the left lane when he had to stop for a vehicle in front of him that was turning left onto Union Street.
The man’s vehicle was then struck from behind by a tractor-trailer being driven north by 51 year old Kimberly Diver, of Middleport.
The impact caused the Girardville man’s car to cross the two southbound lanes of Route 61 before coming to a stop in shrubbery and catching fire.
No injuries were reported.
