Those in need of critical emergency care in Schuylkill County’s west end will now have a reduced wait time for response, as a new advanced life support ambulance service came on line this year.
According to the Republican Herald, the Hegins Area Ambulance Association began offering ALS services Jan. 1, providing certified paramedic response 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
HAAA has become the fourth ambulance provider in the county offering ALS care; the other three are Schuylkill EMS in Pottsville, Shenandoah and Minersville.
