The remnants of a devastating fire in 2016 that destroyed 13 vacant homes on two streets in Shenandoah are being removed.
According to the Republican Herald, funding from the Schuylkill County demolition program is helping with the removal.
The investigation, into the fire, by state police fire marshal Trooper Joseph Hall determined that the fire originated to the rear of 9 N. Union St.
The cause was ruled arson. Employees of Kass Contracting, Shenandoah, began the removal on the east side of the unit block of North Union Street and the south side of East Mount Vernon Street on Monday.
