As the federal government shutdown continues, a Mahanoy City sports bar will offer a free meal this weekend to any furloughed or laid-off federal employees and their immediate family residing in Schuylkill County.
According to the Republican Herald, M&M Redzone, located at 312 W. Centre St., will assist federal employees being affected by the shutdown that began on Dec. 21, beginning today and continuing through Monday.
With proof of present employment with the federal government who are not currently being paid, M&M will provide a meal for the immediate family.
The plan is to provide the free meals this weekend, but owners of the sports bar say it could be extended depending on the circumstances.
