Another year, another toll increase. Sunday was the first day of a new toll increase for drivers on the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
A typical fare for a passenger car increases from $1.23 to $1.30 for EZ-Pass customers.
For those who pay with cash...it will go from $1.90 to $2.10.
A turnpike commission spokesperson says the increase is needed so the turnpike commission can meet its obligations.
Almost 80% of customers are reported to be using the EZ-Pass.
This is the 10th straight year the turnpike commission has raised tolls.
