A Pottsville man was jailed after Pottsville police and Schuylkill County Adult Probation officers found about $40,000 worth of drugs and about $14,000 cash in his possession during the execution of a search warrant.

According to the Republican Herald, Pottsville Police Chief Richard F. Wojciechowsky said the incident unfolded when officers were called to 608 Laurel Terrace to assist Schuylkill County Adult Probation officers who found drug paraphernalia inside the residence of 27 year old Nicholas Phillips.

After obtaining the warrant approved by Magisterial District Judge David A. Plachko, Port Carbon, Pottsville officers executed a complete search of the premise and seized more than one pound of crystal methamphetamine with a potential street value of more than $40,000. \

Phillips was committed to Schuylkill County Prison on a detainer issued by the Schuylkill County Adult Probation Office.
