A transmission line rebuilding project in Schuylkill and Carbon counties is strengthening service for local PPL Electric Utilities customers.
According to the Republican Herald, the utility is rebuilding almost seven miles of 69-kilovolt transmission line in Rush Township and Nesquehoning from single- to double-circuit.
The project is replacing aging equipment, which strengthens reliability.
The rebuilding of the line is expected to wrap up at the end of November and reconstruction work to restore the area under the line will likely continue into the spring of 2019.
