Some parking meters, in Pottsville, will soon be a thing of the past.
City Administrator Thomas A. Palamar said the coin-operated meters in Garfield Square will not be replaced.
Instead, an app service will be put in place to park but users will likely need to provide a credit card or a debit card number.
Two companies, Passport and Parkmobile, presented their app service proposals to the public and parking authority members last month in city council chambers. Palamar said a decision on which company to use will be made at the November parking authority meeting.
Residential parking will still be permitted.
