10 to 23 months in county prison is the sentence that was handed down late Monday afternoon for Convicted former State Attorney General Kathleen Kane.
The Scranton native was convicted at trial of leaking secret grand jury documents to a reporter and then lying to cover it up.
Montgomery County Judge Wendy Demchick-Alloy said Kane's actions were deliberate, calculated and vengeful and called "perjury" the ultimate assault on the judicial system.
Kane's lawyers asked for her to remain free pending an appeal -- but the judge denied the request and also immediately raised bail to $75,000 which Kane did not immediately have, but later in the afternoon, Kane was able to post bail and is now awaiting appeal.
