A small Carbon County community may soon be protected by police from the city of Hazleton.
The plan would mean Hazleton police officers would respond to 911 calls in Banks Township.
It comes at a time when both communities are facing financial problems.
Hazleton City Officials have worked out an agreement that would bring that law enforcement closer. They unveiled the plan at Hazleton City hall Monday morning.
At least one councilmember says he will vote against the agreement. Council meets November 8th.
