An early morning fire severely damaged a double-block home in Shenandoah Heights in West Mahanoy Township, Monday.
According to the Republican Herald, flames were discovered just after 2 a.m. at a home at 191 Ohio Ave. and spread quickly to an attached home at 189 Ohio Ave.
Authorities said the home at 191 Ohio Ave., where the fire is believed to have started, is owned by Troy Dixon and was unoccupied for more than a year.
William Bayliff owns the home at 189 Ohio Ave. and said he had just finished renovations.
State police fire marshals from the Frackville station said no determination has yet been made as to how the blaze started and the fire remains under investigation.
One firefighter was reported to have suffered minor injuries.
