Three men were jailed after being arrested by Minersville police in connection with a burglary, late last week.
The Republican Herald reports that police identified the three charged as Damian Hopkins and Theodore Stang, both of Girardville and Justin Purcell, of Minersville.
Police Chief Michael Combs said that police were called for a report of people entering a residence at 218 N. Third St. and found the three men inside the home, claiming they were with permission from the owner to go into the house to clean it because it was going up for sale. Authorities contacted the owner, who denied allowing anyone in the home.
The trio was arraigned by on-call Magisterial District Judge David J. Rossi, Tremont and committed to Schuylkill County Prison.
They will now have to appear at preliminary hearings before Magisterial District Judge David A. Plachko in his Port Carbon courtroom.
