A Schuylkill County couple was killed in a 3 vehicle crash on Monday in Virginia.
According to authorities, 57 year old Charles Decosmo and 56 year old Linda Decosmo, of Sheppton died in a 3 vehicle crash involving their vehicle, a tractor trailer, and another vehicle on Interstate 295.
The crash occurred as a 2000 Jeep Cherokee was traveling north on I-295, the driver slowed to merge into traffic to take the exit ramp and was struck in the rear by a northbound tractor-trailer, causing the driver to lose control and cross into the left northbound lanes of I-295 where it collided with the Decosmo vehicle.
The Sheppton couple died at the scene. The driver, Charles Decosmo, was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle.
The driver of the 2000 Jeep, a 17-year-old boy from Chesterfield, suffered serious, but non-life threatening, injuries.
