Sinkhole...

The state Department of Transportation said state mining inspectors are expected to visit the site of a sinkhole that shut down a section of Route 125 after a portion of the highway collapsed.

The collapse occurred between 6 and 7 p.m. Friday about 2 1/4 miles outside of Donaldson in Porter Township.

PennDOT installed signs as far as Tremont warning motorists of the road closure and, at the site, piled rocks and put large signs warning drivers that the road was not passable.

State mining inspectors are expected today to determine the cause and best way to repair it.
