A Schuylkill Haven man, whom prosecutors allege was under the influence of marijuana when he caused a fatal crash in January in West Brunswick Township, will now face charges in Schuylkill County Court.
State police at Schuylkill Haven alleged that 50 year old David C. Zalonka, was driving north on Route 61 when he ran a red light at 2:14 p.m. Jan. 5 at Route 61 and Municipal Road in West Brunswick Township, striking a vehicle being driven west on Municipal Road by 59 year old Rodney Brown, of Blandon, Berks County.
Magisterial District Judge James R. Ferrier determined that prosecutors had produced sufficient evidence to support all charges and ordered them held for court.
He allowed Zalonka to remain free on $50,000 straight cash bail pending further court proceedings.
