One person was killed and three others were injured in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 78 Wednesday afternoon.
According to Skook News, State Police at Hamburg said the crash occurred around 2:38pm, Wednesday in the westbound lanes of Interstate 78 near Milemarker 32.5 in Windsor Township, Berks County.
Police say westbound traffic was slowing and/or stopped in both westbound lanes for a single lane construction zone around mile marker 29 westbound, when a tractor trailer, travelling westbound, was unable to stop.
That tractor trailer first struck a passenger vehicle then that vehicle was then pushed into the rear of another tractor trailer.
The chain reaction crash consisted of 5 tractor trailers and one passenger vehicle.
There was heavy fire involving two tractor trailers and the passenger vehicle that resulted in 3 injuries and at least one fatality.
The identity of the victim and others involved has not been released.
