Pottsville police are looking for a man wanted for assaulting a woman in the city Monday morning.
According to the Republican Herald, police were called to the 300 block of West Market Street around 12:50 a.m. for the report of an assault and found a 38-year-old woman with serious bruising on her face and body.
The woman reported that 36 year old Braxton John Moore, of Pottsville, repeatedly assaulted her with a rock and a tree branch, as well as with his hands and feet, in a wooded area near Eighth and Pierce streets.
The woman was taken to a local medical facility for treatment.
Police are currently looking for Moore’s whereabouts. He is described as being about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds.
