50 year old Israel A. Gonzalez, of Lansford, was sentenced to a county prison term after previously pleading guilty to one count each of indecent assault and sexual assault by a volunteer or employee of a nonprofit organization, admitting having inappropriate contact with a young teen at a county miners’ museum.
According to an affidavit the unidentified girl, then16-years-old told police that the assaults occurred at the No. 9 Mine and Museum, in Lansford, on July 20, 2015.
Gonzalez, who was a resident of Coaldale when the incident occurred, was sentenced by Judge Joseph J. Matika to serve three to 18 months in prison and must register for 15 years as a sexual offender under the provisions of Megan’s Law.
