A wanted fugitive in New York was taken into custody after his vehicle became disabled on Interstate 81 over the weekend.
According to Skook News, State Police at Frackville said 27 year old Jamel Felton, of South Carolina, was encountered with a disabled vehicle in the northbound lanes of Interstate 81 near Milemarker 109 in Frailey Twp.
Police say an NCIC check revealed a warrant from the Sheriff's Office in Syracuse, New York.
Felton's original charge was possession of a weapon.
Felton was arraigned before on-call Magisterial District Judge Bayer on a fugitive from justice charge and committed to Schuylkill County Prison on $50,000 bail, awaiting extradition.
