Eleven people were displaced after a house fire Monday, in Pottsville.
A supervisor from the Schuylkill County Communications Center said the call came in to at 12:56 p.m. for smoke in a house at 615 W. Arch St. Seven of those displaced were living at 615 W. Arch St., and the other four were living at 617, which sustained heavy smoke damage.
41 year old Marthania Sherman, along with four children, climbed out the window on the upper floor and escaped by entering a neighboring house.
Pottsville Fire Chief Todd March said the cause of the fire is accidental and started in the basement.
Both families are being assisted by the Red Cross.
