A Mount Carmel man was injured in a crash that closed Interstate 81 late last week.
According to Skook News, State Police at Jonestown said the crash occurred in the Southbound lanes of Interstate 81 near Milemark 105.3 in Tremont Township.
Police say 21 year old Gerard Reichwein, of Mount Carmel, operating a Jeep Wrangler while 51 year old Eduardo Rodriguez, of Scranton, operating a Freightliner were traveling south when Reichwein impacted the tractor trailer in the rear.
It took crews nearly an hour to extricate Reichwein from the vehicle where he was transported to the Hampton Inn near Pine Grove and flown to Hershey Medical Center with unknown injuries.
Police cited Reichwein for following too closely.
