A bridge near Girardville officially reopened Friday.
On July 5th, 2017, PennDOT closed Main Street, Girardville from the Route 54 Intersection in Homesville, Butler Township to Julia Street in the borough to replace the deck and perform other repairs on the bridge over Mahanoy Creek on Homesville Road. Since then, traffic has been detoured around the borough using Route 54.
The bridge was originally scheduled to be completed by September 15th, 2017 but PennDOT had said they were waiting for guiderail to arrive from the manufacturer.
On Thursday, crews were seen installing the new guiderail.
According to PennDOT officials, the bridge officially reopened Friday morning.
