The Mahanoy Area School District announced that today will be an Act 80 Day due to the sudden passing of their School Board President.
According to Skook News, due to the sudden passing of School Board President, Jay Hanley, the district will have an Act 80 day today.
Transportation will be provided to the IU, Vo-tech, and all other schools as normal. Vo-tech students will run on a compressed schedule which will be given to each child today on the bus for out of town bus times.
Additionally, the school board meeting scheduled for today at 6 PM is cancelled and a Special Meeting will be held on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at 6 PM.
Only teachers report to the building today.
