The long term lane restrictions on Interstate 81 north were removed late this past weekend.
Traffic in both directions had been reduced to a single lane for construction work related to the ongoing Interstate 81 Reconstruction Project.
Work on this section of I-81 includes placing an un-bonded concrete overlay, interchange improvements and other miscellaneous construction.
Work began in March 2015 on the over $43 million dollar project and is expected to be complete in May 2017.
Motorists may experience sporadic daytime lane restrictions between now and May while crews finish the project.
