Thanks to the help of social media, a woman has been charged with retail theft after an incident at Hadesty’s Hardwaare Store, in Pottsville.
Pottsville Police said a Dewalt drill valued at $199.99 had been stolen from the store in November and employees had posted video footage of a female suspect on social media. Several people had responded to the posting and indicated the suspect was 28 year old Carissa Delpais, of Schuylkill Haven.
On Thursday, 12/01/16, authorities located the stolen drill at Cash and Trading Pawn Shop, 16 N. Centre Street and confirmed that Delpais had sold the drill to the store for $50.00.
Based on the investigation results a criminal complaint was filed at Magisterial District Judge James K. Reilly's office charging Delpais with Retail Theft and Receiving Stolen Property.
