Shawn Christy was brought to district court, in Carbon County, Wednesday morning to face dozens of charges in connection with alleged crimes he committed during a three-month manhunt.
Christy claimed in court that he was afraid the U.S. Marshals would try to shoot and kill him over an altered videotape of an altercation between him and the former Mayor of McAdoo.
Christy faces dozens of federal and state charges in connection with the manhunt.
Prosecutors say he faces at least 80 years in prison if convicted on all counts.
