Schuylkill County continues to fight blight as Commissioners have approved two option agreements for properties slated for demolition.
One is at 30 W. Coal St., Shenandoah, and the other is at North Lehigh Avenue in Frackville.
The agreements allow the county Land Bank to buy the properties for $100 each at the next judicial sale. Last year, the county received a $1.4 million demolition grant from the state Department of Community & Economic Development.
In January, 13 homes that were damaged by fire in Shenandoah were torn down.
The county has so far spent a total of $448,208 of the grant.
Another $320,515 has been awarded for projects yet to be completed, and $325,000 is committed for projects but has yet to be awarded.
