Conpressor Station...

Residents in Valley View questioned the safety, potential noise pollution, environmental hazards and reduced property values that could come along with a proposed compressor station in Hegins Township, on Tuesday.

According to the Republican Herald, Christopher L. Stockton, Williams spokesman, said the company had purchased a 90-acre parcel and had an agreement with the landowner for the property, which is currently an empty field.

The proposed compressor station will encompass about 10 acres for the facility itself and is centrally located along the pipeline route in the township.

The remaining portion of the 90 acres Williams bought includes a buffer zone to neighboring property. In December, a group of 25 citizens in the Pitman Valley issued a letter of concern against the proposed gas pipeline compressor station, which had previously been proposed to be erected in Eldred Township.
