Schools in our area are stepping up measures to prevent a tragedy like the one last week which left 17 people dead.
Hazleton School Districts are re-evaluating their security measures.
Administrators are developing a plan to have students take part in active shooter training.
Hazleton Area School district Police Force, Chief Ed Harry said right now, students do take part in classroom training and lockdown drills but the superintendent thinks it is time to take it to the next level for student training.
The district even launched its new hi-tech camera security system earlier than expected because of the Parkland massacre.
