Pottsville Area Superintendent Jeffrey S. Zwiebel spoke about the recent controversy surrounding the school district at Wednesday’s school board meeting.
According to the Republican Herald, Zwiebel released a statement earlier this month, in response to an undated letter provided to school board members and other media outlets from an anonymous parent saying a student on the high school football team told the parent about an alleged hazing incident that allegedly took place during the football season, involving a disabled student.
Zwiebel said, “As a result of the actual information uncovered and discovered through the interview and investigation process, certain discipline was imposed and other actions taken.
The Pottsville Area School District, consistent with its obligations under the law, will not discuss the specifics concerning the incident, students involved, discipline taken or any other action taken.”
