A man wanted by Police for a drug overdose death is now in custody.
On April 2, 2016, 23 year old Alexandria Sienkiewicz, of Tamaqua, was found deceased in her bedroom. The Schuylkill County Coroner's office listed the cause of death as Acute Fentanyl Toxicity. The manner of death was listed as Homicide.
The investigation revealed 22 year old Kyle Merenda, of Barnesville, 33 year old Jonathan Seekins, of Coaldale and 24 year old Melanie Kropp, of Mahanoy City were all involved in the drug transaction that led to the death of Sienkiewicz.
Seekins and Kropp were taken into custody and charged on March 7, 2017 and an arrest warrant was issued for Merenda.
State Police at Hazleton said Merenda was apprehended in Carbon County, on Monday. He was arraigned by on-call Magisterial District Judge James Ferrier and locked up in Schuylkill County Prison unable to post $20,000 straight cash bail.
