Four families were displaced and a sandwich shop was destroyed after an early morning fire, Sunday, in Ashland.
According to Skook News, emergency personnel were dispatched at 3:34am to 100 Centre Street for a structure fire.
When crews arrived, they found heavy fire from the roof and Fire Chief Philip Groody upgraded the fire to a 3rd alarm.
Fire crews from Schuylkill County, Northumberland County, and Columbia County responded with multiple personnel.
All 4 families are being assisted with lodging, food, and clothing from the American Red Cross. Three firefighters suffered minor injuries while fighting the blaze which is still under investigation.
