The Schuylkill County commissioners voted Wednesday to aid in developing another property at the Highridge Business Park.
According to the Republican Herald, the commissioners passed a resolution to cooperate with the Schuylkill County Industrial Development Agency in applying for a $1 million state grant to start construction of a 120,000-square-foot building in the Cass Township section of the park.
When finished, the building will join numerous others in the park, which has been a magnet for large companies for the last 20 years.
National firms such as Lowe’s, Sara Lee, Walmart and Wegmans operate regional distribution centers employing hundreds of people each in the park, which includes parts of Butler, Cass and Foster townships along Interstate 81.
