Mistrial for Harris...

A state prison inmate returned to jail Tuesday after his trial, in Schuylkill County Court, ended without a resolution.

According to the Republican Herald, President Judge William E. Baldwin declared a mistrial in the case of 29 year old Jamil Harris, of Frackville, after a witness made an improper statement about the defendant’s history.

State police at Frackville allege Harris possessed drugs and paraphernalia on Aug. 26, 2016, while an inmate at State Correctional Institution/Mahanoy.

The decision on whether to retry Harris is now up to the district attorney’s office.
