Around 7:00pm, fire crews were called to 508 West Vernon Street, in Shenandoah, for a working structure fire.
The call originally came over as entrapment, but that information was found to be negative.
Crews battled the fire for nearly 30 minutes before a second alarm was called in with units from Shenandoah Heights, Ringtown, Englewood, Mahanoy City, and Nuremberg assisting.
The homes at 508 and 510 West Vernon Street were both destroyed.
There is no word yet on the number of victims affected. No injuries were reported.
