Thomas pleads guilty...

23 year old Shavinskin Thomas, of Pottsville, admitted Thursday that he robbed and killed a Pottsville businessman in August 2015 in the city.

Pottsville police charged Thomas with slitting the throat of John Brock in the early morning hours of Aug. 6, 2015, at the victim’s home.

According to the Republican Herald, police also charged Thomas and Joshua Lukach with stabbing Brock and stealing $200 in cash, plus keys and bank cards, from him.

Thomas pleaded guilty to third-degree murder, among other charges, to Schuylkill County Judge Jacqueline L. Russell, who was to preside over his trial.
Russell accepted his plea sentenced him to serve 27 to 60 years in a state correctional institution and as part of the agreement, said Thomas must testify against Lukach, whose trial has not yet been scheduled.
