2 Injured; 1 flown after crash...

A man was flown to the hospital after a crash that occurred on Interstate 81 Monday afternoon.

According to State Police at Frackville, the crash occurred around 3:30pm Monday afternoon, near Milemarker 112.9 in the northbound lanes of I-81 as 55 year old Karl Kramer, of Mahanoy City, was travelling in the passing lane ahead of a box truck driven by 82 year old Robert Dressler, of Lewisburg. For unknown reasons, Kramer slowed then turned sharply to the right and collided with the front left corner of Dressler's truck. Both vehicles veered to the right and down an embankment into a group of trees.

The Jaws of Life was used to free Kramer, while Dressler was able to climb out of his vehicle. Kramer was flown to Geisinger in Danville with severe injuries.

Dressler was transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

As a result of the crash, state police said, Kramer will be cited for not driving on roadways laned for traffic.
