A driver fled the scene of a one-vehicle crash and investigating officers have now learned that the vehicle involved had been stolen.
State police said the crash occurred along Jonas Road, in Chestnuthill Township, on Sunday around 7:30 p.m., when a 1997 Dodge Dakota pickup truck was being driven westbound and the driver lost control.
The truck traveled off the right shoulder and struck a utility pole where it came to rest. The driver then fled the scene.
Troopers said it was learned through the course of the investigation that the truck had been stolen from Edgewood Auto, located along Route 209 in Gilbert.
