One of two men wanted by Minersville police on drug charges was taken into custody in Berks County.
According to the Republican Herald, Minersville police said 31 year old David J. Tavares, of Minersville, was apprehended in the Lowe’s Home Improvement Center in Tilden Township after a customer recognized him from a photo published in the paper.
Bowers said Tavares was arraigned Wednesday by Magisterial District Judge David A. Plachko, Port Carbon, and committed to Schuylkill County Prison unable to post $25,000 bail.
Minersville police are now looking for the whereabouts of the other man they obtained a warrant for in connection with the crime, identified as 51 year old John J. Luback Sr.
Anyone with with information of Luback’s location should call Minersville police at 570-544-2333. Authorities said Luback may be armed and should not be approached.
