The Northumberland County commissioners now own the old Northumberland County prison in Sunbury.
The Northumberland County Authority' agreed Wednesday night to give the prison over to the county.
Along with the deed the authority will turn over three-point-seven million dollars of insurance money from when the county prison was destroyed by fire more than a year ago.
Commissioners say the money will be put towards renovations at the new prison site in Coal Township.
