A Saint Clair man is being charged with stealing thousands of dollars in aluminum.
According to Orwigsburg Borough Police, 29 year old David Mengle was arrested late last week as he was caught in the act of stealing extruded aluminum from Bartush Signs, Inc., located at 302 N. Washington Street in the borough.
The company initially reported missing extruded aluminum from their 605 Industrial Drive, Orwigsburg location on March 21, 2017. Since that time, two additional thefts had occurred before Mengle was caught in the act of committing this theft. The total value of the stolen aluminum is valued at approximately $10,000.
Mengle confessed to all four thefts and was arraigned before Magisterial District Justice Ferrier. He was remanded to the Schuylkill County Prison, unable to post $5,000 straight cash bail.
A preliminary hearing has tentatively been scheduled for April 10.
