On Monday, Governor Tom Wolf and Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Secretary Leslie S. Richards highlighted transportation investments as the department’s six-county, east central region District Executive previewed more than 115 highway and bridge projects expected to be underway in the region this year.
According to Skook News, Schuylkill County work will take place on I-81 along with routes 209, 443 and 309.
Richards notes that as construction projects are underway in the region, the traveling public can anticipate seeing many work zones and are urged to keep in mind their safety and the safety of highway workers.
When encountering a work zone, please drive the posted speed limit, turn on your headlights, pay close attention to signs and flaggers and avoid all distractions.
