Four people have been displaced after fire damaged a home in Hegins Township on Monday afternoon.
According to the Republican Herald, firefighters were called to the home at 159 W. Mountain Road at 2:33 p.m., and upon arriving at the scene were met with fire in the basement of the home.
Hegins Township Fire Rescue Chief Doug Williams said crews were able to contain the fire the basement, but the remainder of the home, the first and second floors, sustained heavy smoke damage.
Williams said a cause of the fire has not been determined and that the township fire marshal is conducting the investigation.
