The first day in Eric Frein’s capital murder trial took place Tuesday, for the Sept. 12, 2014, sniper attack at the Blooming Grove State Police barracks.
Detailed in testimony and in video was the chaos and panic of the ambush and its immediate aftermath.
The attack left 38 year old, Corporal Bryon Dickson, of Dunmore, dead and 34 year old Trooper Alex T. Douglass, of Olyphant, fighting for his life.
Frein pleaded not guilty to all charges, which include first-degree murder, attempted murder and terrorism. He may face the death penalty if convicted of murder.
Frein’s defense team announced that he will not testify in his own defense.
