Autopsies will be performed today, on an elderly woman and her niece who were found dead Thursday inside a home in Butler Township.
According to the Republican Herald, Schuylkill County Coroner Dr. David J. Moylan III said the procedures will take place in Dauphin County by forensic pathologist Dr. Wayne Ross.
97 year old Josephine M. Kodis and 54 year old Christine M. Moran were discovered dead inside a home at 10 S. Fifth St. when Butler Township police went to the property to conduct a welfare check.
Moylan said virtual autopsies were performed Thursday night at the Simon Kramer Cancer Institute, New Philadelphia, but did not elaborate on what, if anything, those scans revealed. He hopes today’s forensic autopsies will provide the information needed to determine how the two women died.
