The body of an adult white male was discovered, Monday evening, in an empty property, in Mount Carmel, Northumberland County.
Mount Carmel Police along with Northumberland County Coroner James Kelley were called to the residence at 315 S. Locust St. sometime after 9:30 p.m. after property owner, Tracy Linn, of Lost Creek, discovered the body.
Linn said the property was vacant and that someone had moved in without her knowledge. Linn said there is no water or electricity in the home and that she and her fiancé were visiting the house to make sure the main box was off so the electric company could turn the power back on.
Upon arriving at the home, Linn said they noticed the window had been opened. When trying to open the front door, they discovered the body of the male, possibly in his early 30s, laying in front of the door, blocking entry into the house.
Officers at the scene could not release any further information as the investigation continues.
