A standoff in Orwigsburg ended without incident on Wednesday.
According to Skook News, State Police attempted to do a mental health welfare check, early Wednesday morning, on a 62 year old woman on Lehigh Street in Orwigsburg.
When police arrived, she refused to exit the home, threatened to hurt herself, and warned troopers that she had weapons inside the home. A State Police SERT team was then called in.
Authorities reported that after nearly 8 hours, the woman eventually surrendered and was taken to an area hospital to be evaluated.
No injuries were reported.
