Additional details have been released from a fatal accident in North Union Township on Wednesday.
According to Skook News, State Police at Frackville said the crash occurred near the intersection of Cove Mountain Drive and Nuremberg Mountain Road around 8:00pm, when a vehicle being operated by 24 year old Dominic Mott IV, of Hazleton, lost control of his vehicle due to the wet road and rain conditions.
During the crash, Mott's vehicle exited the side of the road and impacted several large rocks, causing the vehicle to overturn several times before coming to a final rest along the road.
The rollover ejected a passenger from the back seat of the vehicle, who was pronounced dead at 8:32pm.
The victim's identity has not yet been released. A front seat passenger, identified as 20 year old Ceara Correia, of Hazleton, was also injured in the crash.
Mott reportedly suffered injuries of unknown severity and was transported to Geisinger Wyoming Valley for treatment.
The driver and passengers were reported to not be wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
